Your Location and Happiness

I woke up this morning thinking about all the places I had lived in my life and which ones I had been happy in and which I hadn’t. Both in terms of the houses/apartments I had lived and also where they were geographically.

So then I got to wondering (and maybe it’s stating the obvious), but do you think the location of where you live is a key factor in your happiness? Or is it the circumstances that are occurring in your life at the time that contribute to your happiness or unhappiness, regardless of where you live?

Anyone got any thoughts about that?

  1. It is a good question. My partner was very taken with the importance of the right place for awhile. The same question you are asking and there were many discussions on the subject. I believe they are all mirrors of each other like a hologram. I also believe there are certain qualities that we resonate with and are happiest when our environment reflects them.

    1. Yes Perianne, I think you are right. They do say we live in a holographic universe. I’ve found as you tune into what is happening in your life, you do begin to see mirrors. Many thanks for sharing. Have a great day!

Well, I would go even farther and say that ultimate happiness is possible regardless of all circumstances, and comes from some condition inside ourselves.

In fact, I’m sitting here drinking from a little tea press from Republic of Tea that says “Happiness Needs No Cause” on the side, which I always thought was rather deep for a tea company.

Although, come to think of it, I might still need tea to be happy. 🙂

    1. Many thanks Jennifer, yes that is very wise advice! It’s learning how to master happiness under any circumstances which is the challenge! I love the tea company quote! Have a wonderful day xx

  3. Dimitie, that’s a great qustion! I would say we can be happy anywhere, but there are places that make our souls happier too, especially out in nature. There is a Celtic goddess of Sacred Groves called Nemetona who was guardian of sacred groves. In our desire to be spiritual and say anywhere is good, we sometimes forget that creating sacred spaces is a spiritual practice too.

It is one of our blessings in the modern world that more of us have more freedom than ever before to choose places that we love to live. I hope we can do more collectively to make more places into lovely places for people and nature to abide in resonance.

    1. Hi Karen, yes I agree totally. Nature shows us so many wonderful things. It really does help to ground us, bring us into the present and learn from all the wisdom it has to offer. I also think that’s why people are attracted to sacred spaces too as it helps remind them of all the good things in life.any thanks for sharing. Have a lovely day xx.

  4. I think location IS a factor is happiness, until a person begins to realize that it doesn’t come from any of the external things. When we learn to CHOOSE to be happy regardless, then the location is no longer such a big factor.

That being said, though — I am reallyreallyreally tired of living in Oklahoma! with my dad!! hahahhahaahahahahaha

    1. Yes it is about mastering happiness first and location is a result of that. Lol! I’m sure there is great learning and mastery in where you are living at present ;-). Have a beautiful day xx.

      1. Well, there IS great learning for sure, haha, but I don’t know about the mastery:) Be well yourself
