I was walking through the botanic gardens just after it rained. I came across this image and it stopped me in my tracks. The beauty and perfection of nature is always there for us to appreciate. What is even more magical is they are always there. We just have to stop and take a moment from our busy lives to see them. This photo doesn’t really do justice to what my human eye could see, but I still wanted to share it with you all xx.

I’ve been doing a fast track coaching program with Coach U. It was an intensive course, but I loved it! It’s made me realize how much I love coaching people! Coaching allows me the chance to find out more about people I may not necessarily have known before. What I find the most fulfilling is learning how amazing people really are! We are all so diverse and unique and I think that’s what makes interacting with people so wonderful!
One of the exercises they had us do on the course was to acknowledge 10 people we came into contact with in a 24 hour period. So whether it was a taxi driver, shop keeper, loved one, or friend, we were to really focus all our attention on that person for the time we came into contact with them. That meant we needed to be fully present to seeing them, listening to them and speaking to them. I have to say it was one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever encountered!
How many times have you come into contact with another person and not be fully present with that person? I think we do this all the time, someone may be serving us in a shop and we are on our phone, or thinking about something that is going on in our life. We don’t fully acknowledge the person we are interacting with. I see it all the time now that we have the introduction of blackberry’s, iPhones, computers etc. People are more focused on those devices than on the person that is physically in front of them. I know I do it all the time! I am so caught up in my own thoughts or own life that I am not truly present with the person in front of me.
So I did this exercise and what I encountered was wonderful! I acknowledged the people at the hotel where I was training, I acknowledged the people on the course, I acknowledged my family. What I found incredible is people really respond positively when you are totally focused on them! A young man who was a trainee at the pet store I went to beamed the biggest smile when I acknowledged him and the great job he was doing. My kids came up and gave me a hug when they realized I was fully present and listening to everything they had to say when I got home.
Not only did I make someone feel good by acknowledge their presence, but it also made me feel good. There was so much peace and happiness in the whole exercise that it made interacting with others such a wonderful experience.
So who will you acknowledge today? I really urge you to give this a go and let me know what happens. I would love to hear your stories!
And if you know anyone else who would benefit from doing this, please tell them! It brings us one step closer to understanding each other more.
I have finally figured out after 47 years of living on this planet, how to trust my intuition!! I know, it has taken me a while…..but the light bulb has finally gone on. I have realised that no one else can live my life except me.
I have always been one to seek out the advice of others when there is a problem in my life. There is nothing wrong with that of course. Sometimes we need the help of others when we can’t see a clear path to take. But it becomes a problem when you get advice from all different sources (sometimes conflicting) and you don’t follow your true instinct as to what is right for YOU to do. When you don’t follow your intuition that is when you feel disempowered, depressed, lonely.
So how do you follow your intuition?
It’s really quite simple. You do what makes you feel Happy .
If you are not feeling good about a path you are taking, then you are not trusting your intuition. Your intuition is there to remind you who your true essence/spirit/soul is.
That essence is one of Love, Joy, Peace and Happiness.
If you are not feeling those things when you make a decision, then you are not trusting your intuition. Because your intuition is that calm, clear, peaceful happiness inside you. The one that gently guides you.
Sometimes it is hard to hear your intuition, because we are not meant to be happy all the time right? We have to go through lots of pain and suffering right?
I don’t think so.
I definitely think we are meant to have contrast in our life, the yin/yang. But it is there for us to practise refining our intuition and to remember who we really are underneath it all.
I really think we are meant to live a life filled with joy and happiness, to be our true selves. Just somewhere along the way we have forgotten this is our true birthright.
So go practise being happy and then you will be following your intuition and your true self.
Much love and happiness to you all for trusting your intuition from here on in!
What an amazing month it has been. I have been away on holiday with my family in Australia, US and Japan. What a wonderful time we had!
Sometimes when you are on holiday you don’t want to come back to your normal life. There is so much excitement and adventure when you are traveling and so many new experiences to take in.
So why is it when you return home and you have to go back to work and daily routines that the bubble bursts and you are faced with an avalanche of issues?
The issues were all there when you left and somehow they get put on hold whilst you are on holiday and then when you return, like a faithful pet, they show up! It’s quite strange how that happens.
I do know it has to do with our focus and attention to them. Like Abraham Hicks says, the more we focus our attention on something the more we will give it energy and attract more of that experience into our lives. Either negatively or positively.
So since returning, when a problem shows up in my experience, instead of focusing more attention on it by way of worry and stress, I’ve learnt to Let Go of it, trusting that a positive solution will always eventuate. Then I take myself off somewhere and do something enjoyable and do you know what I’ve discovered happens? The problem that I was so intently worried about, miraculously gets resolved!!! It’s really quite magical!
And life becomes more fun! Just like on holidays .
I urge you to go out and try this technique and then leave me a comment to tell me how it went. I will be keen to know what happened.
Please feel free to share this idea with your friends too. It all helps us to lead happier lives.

I went to see Abraham Hicks in Melbourne, Australia, which was absolutely fantastic! I learnt so much from being there listening to Abraham in person and gained so much wisdom from the knowledge that was imparted there. I may even start a separate blog, just to write about all of Abe’s teachings! But the message is always simple and clear with Abraham. Enjoy Your Life! When you begin to enjoy your life and all it has to offer, focusing on the good and ignoring the bad, good things start to happen. They really do! But as human beings I think we have a propensity to focus on the negative first. So it requires a lot of mind training to focus on the positive. But when you do, amazing things start to happen. So if you are lamenting about all the troubles in your life, STOP! Start focusing on all the good things in your life and continue to focus on them until more good starts to happen. It really does work! The more you practice something, the better you become at it and that’s the same for focusing on the good things. You have to work at it!
I’ve been watching the Abraham Hicks DVD’s since then and here are a few things that they suggest that are really helpful to do each day:
- Meditate for 15 mins a day (this can be as simple of focusing on your breathing for that amount of time.If your mind wanders off your breathing, that’s ok, just bring it back to your breath)
- Acknowledge the beauty of nature all around you, the sky, the warm sun, the trees, the plants, the earth etc.
- Get a journal and start writing in it. Call it “The Book of Positive Aspects” and write about all the positive things that are happening in your life.
So what are all the good things that have been happening in your life? Please comment below. I would love to hear all the good things that have been going on.
If you think this post has been useful. Please share with your friends.
Here’s to making the world a better place!
I woke up this morning feeling sad and depressed. Not really a good way to be going into a New Year. I realize that I keep focusing on all the things that are not going right in my life. This is just a tad frustrating!! I know it keeps me stuck where I am, with the same old issues showing up.
So I asked the Universe to show me why I keep having these ‘Groundhog Day’ moments. The answer I got was so simple, but so profound.
‘Focus on the Beauty in your Life’ . Ahhhh that makes perfect sense!
So that is exactly what I am going to do to start this New Wonderful Year of 2013!
I am going to start dedicating this blog to all the beauty in my life Whenever I see, experience, hear, feel something that is beautiful, I’m going to post it here.
Here’s the first bit of beauty from 2012, that will carry me into 2013.
Happy New Year Everyone! May it be Beautiful for You Too .
The penny finally dropped this week when I realized that once you start to Appreciate what you already have in your life, more good starts to flow into your existence!!
I’ve also learned from the Law of Attraction that Gratitude is different from Appreciation. I thought they were one and the same. But according to Abraham they are different.
Apparently Gratitude implies you have overcome a difficult situation. Seeing things from this perspective means that you are still focusing on the problem and not the solution.
Appreciation, however, is being happy with where you are at, regardless of the situation. It’s about seeing all of your experiences as a blessing, both the good and the bad.
Apparently once you Master this, then you are seeing through the eyes of Source or Unconditional Love.
So I have had to correct myself all week to stop from saying “I am Grateful for …..”, to “I Appreciate…..”. I must say it makes a huge difference to your psyche. It’s almost like a relief to focus on life this way. I have also felt a lot happier putting this into practice.
Here are some things I have been appreciating:
My brilliant, beautiful, kind and loving family,
The food we eat,
The blue sky and warm weather (we live in the tropics)
The amazing flowers I have seen when I walk the dogs
The kind, helpful people I have encountered this week
You wonderful people who read my Blog, Tweets, Facebook and Link-in posts!
WordPress, Google, You Tube, Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In!
My Apple iPhone, iPad and iMac!
So that’s what I have experienced. Let me know if you try out ’being Appreciative vs being Grateful. I’d be interested to know what you experience too!
Love Dimitie xx
P.S. I’m now also going to be dedicating this blog and all my other social media avenues to ‘Appreciation of this Amazing Life’ and see what happens
