Do you suffer from loneliness? Can you sometimes be surrounded by people and still feel lonely? Do you feel like no-one understands you?

We’ve all had feelings of loneliness in our lives and it can make us feel really isolated from the rest of the world. So what can you do about it? You’ve tried lots of techniques, but nothing seems to work? Do those feelings still come back?

Well I’m here to help. I’ve had those same feelings and I want to share with you the techniques I have used to overcome loneliness.

  1. Most of the time when we feel lonely, it’s because we feel different or separate from the people around us. So I find the number one best tip to use for this is to know that we are all the same underneath. We all come from the same energetic, universal life force. We all want the same things in life love, joy, peace, happiness and understanding. So when you know we all come from this same place, it makes it easier to connect with people.
  2. Learn how to connect from your heart to another’s heart. When you understand someone from a heart connection it allows you to feel closer to them. Most of the time we are coming from our head connection. Our head connection or Ego makes us think we are separate from one another. It makes us focus on how different the other person is from us. So next time you feel like “this person is different from me” recognize that they may look different, their beliefs may be different but they still have a bright energetic light shining inside of them that is the same as yours.
  3. If you do get stuck in that head space because you believe they are different from you, then have a look at your own beliefs. What it is that stops you from connecting with this person? Most of the time, it’s because we don’t think we have anything in common. So try to find some common ground with that person if you can. And if it’s really difficult for you to do;
  4. Find people you connect with, that make you feel good! This will give you the confidence to connect with more people, and maybe even the ones that are totally different from you.
  5. I love Walt Disney’s It’s A Small World. I loved that ride at Disneyland when I was a kid and now I know why. It pretty much sums up that connection to everyone and everything I am I talking about here.

It’s a world of laughter, a world of tears
It’s a world of hopes and a world of fears
There’s so much that we share that it’s time we’re aware
It’s a small world after all

It’s a small world after all
It’s a small world after all
It’s a small world after all
It’s a small, small world

There is just one moon and one golden sun
And a smile means friendship to everyone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It’s a small world after all

So I hope these tips have been useful. Give them a go and let me know in the comments below, how they helped. Once you feel comfortable connecting with others, then please feel free to share these tips with others,( who may be dealing with the same loneliness issues that you are!).

I look forward to connecting with you!
